Bethany is a proud member of the Foster Care Alliance, which just completed the first stage of its "Voices of Foster Children" Roaming Quilts campaign ... making the quilts! Quilt squares were designed by foster children and sewn together by caring individuals supporting foster care in the Quad Cities.

FCA - Quilts

In May, one quilt will be on display at the Rock Island, Mercer, and Henry County courthouses. The quilts will then move monthly to the Quad City Airport (June), Quad City Arts (July), the Putnam Museum (August), the Martin Luther King Jr. Center (September), the Family Museum (October), Black Hawk College (November), and the Quad City Botanical Center (December).

The Foster Care Alliance is a new initiative to promote cooperation among foster care agencies in the Illinois Quad Cities. The goal is to recruit, recognize, and support foster families and to nurture and protect children in the child welfare system. The Foster Care Alliance comprises four agencies: Bethany for Children & Families, the Center for Youth & Family Solutions, the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services, and Lutheran Social Services of Illinois. Together, the Foster Care Alliance works to help the children in our community who need it the most.
