Keeping children safe, strengthening families, and building healthy communities since 1899.

Bethany for Children & Families is a voluntary, not-for-profit agency that has provided services to children and families in western Illinois and eastern Iowa since 1899. The organization consists of a professional team of social workers, licensed counselors, case managers, and educators. Bethany has served the Quad City community for over 100 years. During much of that time, the agency was known for its care of orphaned and abandoned children. In 1997, the agency changed its name from Bethany Home to Bethany for Children & Families.

While there are many similarities, families are very different than they were 100 years ago. In response to the changes in society and family life, the agency altered its services to deliver early intervention programs, foster care, adoption, school-based therapy, after-school care for behaviorally disordered children, a dental program for children in need, and an array of other community services to the Quad Cities region. Bethany now offers more than twenty programs and services that focus upon the agency's mission to keep children safe, strengthen families, and build healthy communities.
